Hi! My name is Jackie and I am a certified and registered yoga teacher. I started practicing yoga in April of 2013 and within 6 months, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. In May of 2015 I took a 7 week leave of absence from my scientist position at a Bay Area biotech company to travel to Southeast Asia where I completed my 200 hour certification in Ubud, Bali. During my training with Linda Mandani, I was trained in both Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. I was fortunate enough to also be taught some ancient Balinese healing mudras called Pranala. The style of yoga that I teach is a dynamic vinyasa style flow meant to help students ground through their bodies taking their awareness out of their minds and into the present moment. Along with this dynamic flow, I incorporate the healing Pranala practice, pranayama, and guided meditation.
My yoga journey started because I wanted to be able to do a handstand. Silly and ego-driven, I know, but “The science of yoga begins to work on the outermost aspect of the personality, the physical body, which for most people is a practical and familiar starting point.” Today, my practice has evolved into a healing and fulfilling lifestyle. My goal is to teach yoga, to spread the love, joy, and peace that yoga has brought to me, to give students tools to maneuver through the daily grind of life, and to help others heal through moving meditation.
